Jeanie Marie Buss (born Jeanie Marie Buss) is a famous American woman in business. She is the current president and the controlling owner for the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss, a Californian native was raised with an affluent background. Jerry Buss' father was an investor in real estate and went on to own the Lakers and several other companies in the field of sports. The couple divorced in 1972 which made her feel that she was emotionally abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she was appointed the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis club. Later, she established an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She also served as head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice-president of the Lakers. Buss' father died in 2013 as did the Lakers were acquired by her and five of her siblings by way of the trust. Each sibling had the same number of votes. The Lakers named her president.
